Welcome to the Fourth Edition of my monthly newsletter! This month I’m writing to you as March comes to a close, and I feel like I’ve blinked and Spring is nearly here in full.
Thank you for being here, and for keeping up with all things Mind Body Wellness. If you missed the first of my newsletters, I decided to turn them into blog posts so that you can revisit them anytime you’d like. You can access them here, and can go back to check out the therapy themes and resources I sent in previous months.
This month’s Therapy Themes emerged over and over again over the past few weeks. When I notice myself having similar conversations with my clients week to week, I tune in because I don’t think it’s only coincidence. My guess is that if a topic is coming up for a few people, there are more who could benefit from the conversation. Whether this is a real-life example of collective consciousness, or themes based on the season...
Welcome to the Third Edition of my monthly newsletter! Thank you for being here, and for your interest in keeping up with all things Mind Body Wellness. If you missed the first two newsletters, I decided to turn them into blog posts so that you can revisit them anytime you’d like. You can access them here, and can go back to check out the therapy themes and resources I sent in previous months. I hope that you find these notes helpful!
Therapy Themes emerge when I find myself having similar conversations with my clients week to week. My hope in sharing these themes is that it helps us to feel more connected, and my guess is that if a topic is coming up for a few people, there are more who could benefit from the conversation. Whether this is a real-life example of collective consciousness, or themes based on the season or world events, you can decide for yourself. I find the sharing of these themes valuable because it helps to feel like we’re not...
One of the things that gets in the way when starting a meditation practice (or any new habit, really) is ambiguity. That means saying something like, "oh yeah, I'd like to try that", or "I'll do it tomorrow". One of the ways that you can reduce ambiguity is by making a plan for yourself. When are you going to make time to start? Setting a day and time for yourself means it's much more likely to happen.
Before we dive in, I'd first like to share why I'm so into this practice. Meditation has become a pretty important part of my life over the years - as integrated into my life as brushing my teeth. And it's usually small stuff like that that makes the difference, right? The small daily practices you do to take care of yourself aren't necessarily sexy or trendy, but are actually essential to your overall well being. For me, that's what this practice is. Essential to my wellbeing and immensely impactful for my mental health. I started regularly meditating in 2019, and I'd say it...
Welcome to this second edition of my monthly newsletter! I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m excited to have this opportunity to connect with you. If you missed the first newsletter, my intention with these monthly notes is to share practice updates, therapy themes, as well as personal reflections and resources with you that I hope will be supportive and helpful.
Some weeks, I find myself having very similar conversations with my clients. Whether this is a real-life example of collective consciousness, or themes based on the season or world events, you can decide for yourself. I find the sharing of these themes valuable because it helps to feel like we’re not alone (because we aren’t!).
This month specifically, I’ve had a lot of conversations about anger. Like, a lot a lot. Many people are grieving, under pressure, burnt out, and feeling angry about it. And guess what? Anger is not a bad thing. How many times have you heard...
Welcome to my first newsletter! Thank you so much for your continued support as I navigate new avenues of my business. This newsletter is exciting for me because it gives me an opportunity to connect with you on a different level. My hope is to share practice updates, therapy themes, as well as personal reflections and resources with you that I hope will be supportive and helpful.
Some weeks, I find myself having very similar conversations with my clients. Whether this is a real-life example of collective consciousness, or simply a coincidence, you can decide for yourself! This month, specifically around the holidays, I found myself having many conversations around boundaries. Makes sense, right? Many of us see family, and in so doing have a need for boundaries (or struggle with a lack of boundaries).
If you’re a client of mine, chances are we’ve had a conversation about all-or-nothing thinking. This thought pattern means that you like to label...
